FG Launches Application Portal for ₦50 Million Student Innovation Grant (2025 Update)
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially opened the application portal for the Student Venture Capital Grant (SVCG) a groundbreaking national programme designed to support student innovators with equity free funding of up to ₦50 million.
The announcement was released by the Federal Ministry of Education on Monday through a statement signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, described the grant as a major pillar of the country’s innovation agenda.
According to him:
“The President has challenged us to search for Nigeria’s next Moonshot inside our tertiary institutions. We are not just looking for school projects, we are looking for future Nigerian Unicorns, and this investment is a seed for Nigeria’s future.”

The Ministry noted that this collaboration ensures that Nigerian students “begin their entrepreneurial journey with world-class digital tools from day one.”

Applications are now open to students in accredited tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Eligible applicants must be:
