NABTEB ENGLISH ESSAY WRITING

Asaba, Delta State.
25 June, 2025.
Dear Joe,
I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to share with you what happened at Kelly’s birthday party. I’m still trying to process everything that occurred.
The party was held at a Kansas Hub last weekend. It started off great, with everyone having a good time, dancing, and enjoying themselves. However, things took a turn for the worse when a dispute over a pool game escalated into a fight. From what I gathered, one of the guys felt he was being cheated, and tensions rose quickly.
The fight got intense, with people using bottles and other objects to hurt each other. It was like a free-for-all, with people shouting and screaming. Some of our friends were seriously injured – one had a deep cut on his forehead that required stitches, and another had a broken arm. The police arrived and arrested several people involved in the fight.
The scene was chaotic, with broken glass and furniture everywhere. It was clear that the fight had caused a lot of damage. The venue was left in shambles, with shattered glass and overturned tables. I’m still shaken by what I saw.
To be honest, this incident has given me a phobia of attending birthday parties. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to shake it off anytime soon. The thought of being in a similar situation again makes me anxious. I know it sounds irrational, but it’s hard to forget what I witnessed.
Despite everything, I learned an important lesson – the importance of knowing when to walk away from a potentially volatile situation. I’ll definitely be more mindful in the future. It’s not worth risking one’s safety over a celebration.
Reflecting on the incident, I realize that it wasn’t just the fight that was disturbing, but also the aftermath. Seeing our friends hurt and the venue destroyed was heartbreaking. It’s a reminder that things can go wrong quickly, even in situations meant to be enjoyable.
I’m still trying to come to terms with what happened. It’s been a few days, but the images are still fresh in my mind. I hope that our friends who were injured will recover fully, and those who were arrested will learn from their experience.
Take care.
Your friend,
Ben
