Nigerian Army Releases Shortlisted Candidates for SSCC Course 49/2026 Selection Board
The Nigerian Army (NA) has officially released the list of successful candidates shortlisted for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 49/2026.
According to the announcement, the full list is now available on the Army’s recruitment portal: https://recruitment.army.mil.ng. All shortlisted candidates are required to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna State, for the Selection Board exercise on 1 December 2025.
Candidates are strongly advised to arrive in Kaduna on 30 November 2025 and must report to the venue between 6:00 am and 11:00 am on 1 December. Anyone arriving after 11:00 am will be automatically disqualified.
The Selection Board is a compulsory phase for all shortlisted candidates, and the Army emphasizes that participants must come fully prepared. Each candidate must bring both original and at least two photocopies of key documents, including academic and professional certificates such as WAEC, NECO, NYSC discharge or exemption letters where applicable, a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission or local government authority, a certificate of state of origin, and other identification documents.
Military personnel must also present a valid military ID card and an official letter of recommendation from their commanding officer. Candidates must also provide their BVN printout, NIN slip, and all printouts from the SSCC application portal.
Candidates are further expected to come along with personal items such as writing materials, three pairs of blue shorts, three pairs of plain white T-shirts, a pair of white canvas shoes, three pairs of white socks, toiletries, cutlery, plates, drinking cups, and bedding materials including blankets and pillowcases.
They must also bring four recent full-size coloured passport photographs taken in a suit as well as scratch cards for confirming WAEC or NECO results.
A Letter of Consent from a parent or guardian is mandatory. This letter must clearly state that the candidate will not seek compensation for any injury or death that may occur during the selection activities. It must also be endorsed by a court of law and signed before a Commissioner of Oaths.
The Army warns that any alteration on documents will render them invalid, and candidates who violate instructions or behave indisciplined during the screening will be disqualified immediately.
During the Selection Board period, candidates will be accommodated and fed by the Nigerian Army. However, they are responsible for their own transportation to and from Kaduna. Private or personal vehicles are strictly prohibited at the venue, and no visitors will be allowed throughout the duration of the exercise.
The Selection Board will involve document verification, physical fitness assessments, medical examinations, academic evaluations, and an oral interview.
Finally, the Nigerian Army notes that due to the nature of the selection activities, it will not be liable for any injuries or deaths that may occur during the process. All shortlisted candidates are strongly advised to comply fully with instructions to avoid disqualification.
