Key Responsibilities
1. Network Management & User Support
- Install and configure network resources for the office, sub-bases, and respective users
- Create and manage network folders and user backups for departmental use
- Carry out backups of relevant users' old data and store safely
- Support the Mission ICT Specialist in designing and configuring the Local Area Network; administer and monitor user network access
- Work with HR to manage user onboarding/offboarding ICT accounts and access
- Guide staff on the GLPI ticketing system and basic ICT tools
- Oversee end-to-end management of ICT equipment, cash devices, and accessories, including loans and allocations
- Track issuance, usage, and return compliance for all ICT assets on loan
- Assess needs and assign ICT consumables in line with Mission ICT Specialist approval
- Develop a proactive re-stocking plan for ICT consumables
- Support the Mission ICT Specialist and Roving Energy Officer on energy-related projects
2. Data Security and Software Management
- Back up all users' official data (OneDrive and NAS); back up NAS files to external drive on schedule
- Secure users' data by installing and updating anti-virus on all computers
- Install relevant applications on user computers
- Support deployment of Information Systems for other offices, including Jigawa and Yola
- Manage CCTV system functionality and footage backups
3. Equipment Procurement and Management
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure requested equipment/services meet specifications
- Code/label all procured equipment with the Mission ICT Specialist
- Configure and install equipment for office and sub-base users
- Maintain hardcopy equipment folders with equipment cards for sub-bases
- Allocate equipment to sub-base users via documented Equipment Temporary Allocation Forms
- Carry out proactive maintenance on ICT equipment in sub-bases
- Coordinate with external technicians or Capital office for equipment repairs
- Conduct regular asset inventory and tracking, reporting to the Mission ICT Specialist
- Support the design, maintenance, and operation of the Equipment Tracking System (ETS)
4. Communication Service and Subscription Management
- Allocate GSM lines to users and maintain records
- Monitor GSM line use and report abuse to the Mission ICT Specialist
- Request new GSM lines based on need
- Support GSM users in collaboration with the Capital office
- Monitor service delivery against SLA for office and sub-bases
- Monitor communication services (internet, GSM, satellite, radio) for misuse and report same
5. User Management
- Support the Mission ICT Specialist in managing ICT projects for office and sub-bases
- Conduct ICT induction for staff
- Periodically conduct user training in collaboration with the Mission ICT Specialist
- Configure user accounts (email, NHF, other platforms) and maintain the user database
- Lead day-to-day user support, ensuring timely response for users and sub-bases
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / HND in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Professional certificate(s) and/or training in ICT-related fields
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience in similar responsibilities
- Previous NGO experience an asset, particularly international NGOs
- Capacity for analysis, synthesis, and reporting of large amounts of information
- Excellent attention to detail; highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility; able to work independently
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills; approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality; able to work in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site environment
- Fluency in English
