General Information

  • The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Exercise 2026 for Batch 39 runs from 2 to 31 October 2026
  • Online registration and the entire recruitment process are free of charge; no payment should be made to anyone at any point
  • Only one valid application is permitted — multiple online applications will lead to disqualification

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Applicants must not be less than 1.69m tall for males and 1.65m for females
  • Applicants must be medically, psychologically, and physically fit
  • Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on criminal grounds by a court of law

Guidelines for Applicants

  • O'Level/SSCE applicants: Must be between 18 and 22 years as at 31 December 2026; must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB), not older than 2020
  • OND/NCE applicants: Must be between 18 and 26 years. Chaplain/Imam Assistant and Drivers/Mechanic applicants must be between 18 and 28 years as at 31 December 2026. Must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB), not older than 2015
  • Tradesmen applicants applying for the following categories must possess a Trade Test certificate as well as a credit in English Language, with a minimum of 4 passes in other subjects (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) not later than 2017:
    1. Tailoring
    2. Carpentry
    3. Plumbing
    4. Masonry
    5. Welding
    6. Electrician
    7. Painting
    8. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology
  • Applicants applying for professions allied to medicine must possess an ND from a recognized Nigerian training institution and a valid practicing license
  • Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present evidence of their sporting experience, including certificates and medals
  • All applicants must be proficient in the use of English Language — inability to communicate in basic English will lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process

Selection Process

The date and venues for the recruitment examination will be communicated in due course. Successful applicants will undergo basic military training, and on completion will be recruited into the Service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
